Construction is complete on the fifth stage of Kiama Council’s popular Blue Haven Retirement Village. Stage 5 adds a further 88 Independent Living Units to the Village.
The modern design of Stage 5 incorporates many features identified by Council’s extensive research and its experience in operating the Village since 1979. This includes a state-of-the-art emergency call system which is monitored on site.
Stage 5 is serviced by two lifts, with one backed-up by an emergency generator. It will also incorporate reticulated gas hot water to every unit and will use rainwater to flush all toilets. The incorporation of an expansive residents' lounge area with a two-storey glass ceiling, in addition to a large observation deck and sky-lounge, will significantly increase the facilities available to all Village residents.
The building contains a range of one, two and three-bedroom designs, with prices starting from $225,000 (average $500,000).
Stage 5 represents a unique opportunity to bypass the usual waiting times at most retirement villages, of between 8 to 10 years and to secure a brand new unit under very convenient settlement terms. All deposits are fully refundable, with $10,000 being required to initially secure the unit and the balance of the usual 10% deposit being required once Council is able to show intending residents the view from their unit, around mid-2006.
