Community Transport

What is it?

Kiama Community Transport provides a door to door transport service aimed at assisting clients to remain independent and living in their own homes. Community Transport is not an emergency transport service.

Services include transport to non-urgent health and medical appointments, shopping, library visits, community adult daycare groups and special events

Who is it for?

Community Transport is available to residents within the Kiama Local Government Area who:

  • are frail aged or who have a disability and are not living in residential care
  • care for a frail aged person or someone with a disability
  • are unable to access mainstream public transport services or private transport

Process of referral

Referrals can be made from the individual, the individual's family, friends or other service providers such as GP's and hospitals by phoning Community Transport on 4232 0475. Referees must then undergo an assessment by the Coordinator and be deemed eligible for the project prior to accessing community transport services.
