Home Maintenance Project

What is it?

Kiama Council Community Support Home Maintenance Project provides assistance with minor maintenance & repairs to homes, gardens & yards enabling clients to keep their homes in a safe and comfortable condition.

The project assists with the cost of the service provision; clients are responsible for the cost of materials.

Services may include:

  • minor repairs & maintenance to dwellings
  • small painting jobs and basic carpentry
  • basic plumbing such as replacing taps & washers
  • regular lawn mowing
  • "once off" assistance with removal of rubbish or yard clean-ups and garden modifications

Who is it for?

  • frail, older people
  • younger people with a disability and their carers living in the Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama & Shoalhaven Local Government area.

Process of referral

Referrals can be made by individuals, carers, family members, friends, or other service providers such as GP's and hospitals.

The individual must undergo an assessment by the co-ordinator and be deemed eligible before recieving the services.
