By regularly returning old and unwanted medicines to any pharmacy you can help protect your health and environment. Refer to this program to find out how to dispose of unwanted medicines.
In Australia, over 12 million people own a mobile phone and exchange it on average, every 2 years. That is a lot of potentially toxic waste in our landfills.
Never put mobile phones into rubbish bins. At landfill the battery breaks down and the cadmium leaks out. This is more toxic in the environment than lead. It is better to make sure they are recycled.
Do not put your mobile phones in your normal household recycling bin. Unwanted mobile phones can only be dropped off for recycling at one of the participating stores listed below:
Or at:
Kiama Muncipal Council, Administration Building, 11 Manning Street, Kiama in the Mobile Muster collection tube located in the front foyer.
Save energy and money. The NSW Government has introduced an initiative where your 2nd fridge may qualify for a rebate under the Fridge Buyback program.
The Minnamurra Waste & Recycling
Centre is located on the eastern side
of Riverside Drive (Princes Highway), Dunmore, approximately 200 metres north of the Minnamurra
Bridge.
