Book club kits

Esther Durrant book kit.jpgEver wanted to join a book club, start your own club, or give your existing club a revamp?

It's never been easier, with Kiama Library's new book club kit membership service now available to support the many book clubs in our local area. Book clubs can apply for a book club membership card and use this to borrow a set of books for six weeks at a time.

What's in a kit?

Each kit has 9–10 copies of a particular book (including a large print edition where available) and a set of discussion questions. There are around 60 different book kits in the collection to choose from — by both popular and prize-winning authors including, Elizabeth Gilbert, Jane Harper, Liane Moriarty, Michelle Obama and Trent Dalton — and we're adding new kits all the time.

Membership is great value and can be arranged in one of two ways:

Casual membership

A casual membership is a fantastic option for those wanting to trial a full book club membership, or if your book club likes more flexibility with their choice of books, and allows your book club to borrow up to three kits per year for a cost of $60 (just $6 per member, based on ten members).

Annual membership

A full annual membership allows your club to borrow up to 12 kits per year, for a cost of $200 (around $20 per member).
