What's on in Science Week, 11-19 August 2018

This year Kiama Library is celebrating National Science Week by hosting a special family-friendly evening screening of SCINEMA, the largest science short-film festival in the southern hemisphere, showcasing the best in science cinema from around the world.

SCINEMA is a celebration of the power of the moving image to inspire the young, satisfy the curious, explain the baffling and ask the impossible. The films in this year’s festival consider the natural world, the nature of time and technology and our place in the universe. Most films are under 10 minutes in length.

Vote for your favourite film and go into a draw to win a GoPro Hero6 (details on how to vote provided at the event).

So come along on the evening of Tuesday 14 August to see our Children’s area transformed into a universe of questions, logic, experimentation, creativity, imagination and explanation.
