Surf safety tips
No flags. No swim!
If you get into difficulty, remain calm, call for help, float with the ocean's current, and raise your arm for assistance.
Always swim or surf at patrolled beaches.
Do not swim or surf alone.
Swim between the red and yellow flags.
Ask a lifeguard or lifesaver if you’re unsure of surf conditions or signs.
Supervise children at all times.
Never run or dive into water, as depths change regularly.
Avoid exposure to the sun by wearing sunscreen, hat, shirt and sunglasses.
Don’t swim directly after a meal.
Don’t swim under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Take your rubbish with you. Leave only your footprints.
