Surf Beach

Surf BeachSurf Beach is in central Kiama. It is next to Coronation Park, off Manning Street.

Rips and currents do occur at times. Please swim with caution, read and obey all signs, and swim only when Surf Beach is patrolled. The safest area to swim is between the red and yellow flags.

Dogs are prohibited.

Jones Beach

Kiama Downs (Jones) BeachJones Beach (or Kiama Downs Beach) is located in our municipality's north, adjacent to North Kiama Drive.

Rips and currents do occur at times. Please swim with caution, read and obey all signs, and swim only when Jones Beach is patrolled. The safest area for you to swim is between the red and yellow flags.

A trial dog off-leash swimming area is currently operating at the southern end of Jones Beach.

Bombo BeachBombo beach

Bombo Beach is Kiama's first beach visible from the Princes Highway after leaving Sydney. 

It is a popular beach for surfing and fishing. Fishing should be done with caution, particularly during large seas.

Rips and currents do occur at times. Please swim with caution, read and obey all signs, and swim only when Bombo Beach is patrolled. The safest area for you to swim is between the red and yellow flags.

Bombo Beach is a dog-friendly beach, and our rules for off-leash areas apply.

Kendalls Beach

Kendalls Beach

Kendalls Beach is a short distance south of Surf Beach, adjacent to Kendalls Beach Holiday Park.

It is one of our most protected beaches and is suited to families with young children as it has a playground and barbecue area nearby.

Rips and currents do occur at times. Please swim with caution, read and obey all signs, and swim only when Kendalls Beach is patrolled. The safest area for you to swim is between the red and yellow flags.

Dogs are prohibited.

Easts BeachEasts Beach

Easts Beach is to Kiama's south, next to Easts Beach Holiday Park.

The beach is protected by headlands at both ends, and it is considered to be one of our safest beaches. However, easterly winds can create large swells and rough shore breaks. 

Rips and currents do occur at times. Please swim with caution, read and obey all signs, and swim only when Easts Beach is patrolled. The safest area for you to swim is between the red and yellow flags.

Dogs are prohibited.

Werri Beach

Werri Beach

Werri Beach is at Gerringong, to our municipality's south. It is 1.5km in length and popular with surfers.

Rips and currents do occur at times. Please swim with caution, read and obey all signs, and swim only when Werri Beach is patrolled. The safest area for you to swim is between the red and yellow flags.

Seven Mile Beach

Seven Mile Beach

Seven Mile Beach extends from Gerroa (south of Gerringong) to Shoalhaven Heads. Windy conditions occur at this open beach which is popular with kite and wind surfers.

Rips and currents do occur at times. Please swim with caution, read and obey all signs, and swim only when Seven Mile Beach is patrolled. The safest area for you to swim is between the red and yellow flags.

Dogs are prohibited.

Black BeachView from harbour to Black Beach

Black Beach is located at the Kiama Harbour foreshore. It has a rocky shore and is popular with snorkelers. Swimming here is possible, however most swimmers prefer the Olympic (Continental) Rock Pool at the end of the reserve.

Black Beach is not patrolled. Swim with caution as rips and currents do occur at times.

Dogs are permitted on-leash in the reserve area.

Minnamurra Beach 

Minnamurra BeachMinnamurra Beach (or Mystics Beach) at Minnumurra is located in adjacent to the 250 hectare Killalea State Recreation Area. It is a popular beach for surfing.

Mystics Beach is unpatrolled. Swim with caution as rips and currents do occur at times.

Dogs are prohibited.
