Stop Announcer (NSW) - App
An accessibility app designed for people with vision impairment has just been released to the Google Play store. Stop Announcer (NSW) is designed to help customers navigate their way on public transport. It has a clear, high-contrast display, and the app is designed to work with the Android accessibility feature, TalkBack. The app provides audio prompt alert announcements as customers arrive at bus stops, train stations, ferry wharves and light rail stops throughout NSW. For more information click here
Supporting carers and people with dementia to use respite in the Illawarra Shoalhaven. The website provides a portal of information and resources for carers and people living with dementia in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions. Rethink Respite are holding workshops for service providers of people living with dementia. Information is available here

Communities at Risk - FireWise - AIDER Program
Assistance for Infirm, Disabled and Elderly Residents - a one-off free service to reduce bush fire hazards. AIDER services may include: thinning vegetation, removing leaves, sticks and fallen branches, trimming branches from around an overhanging the home, Mowing or slashing long grass, cleaning gutters. An assessment of your property will be completed by Rural Fire Service staff. Advice will be given about completing your Bush Fire Survival Plan. All works are completed by Rural Fire Service teams. A Digital Wallet allows you to access your concession cards using your Express Plus Centrelink mobile app. To access real time concession entitlements on your Digital Wallet, you need to download the latest version of Express Plus Centrelink and use the side menu.

2017 NSW Seniors Card Discount Directory
The Discount Directory gives NSW Seniors Card members a year round guide to the best business discounts, services and information in their area.
The Directory is no longer delivered to households by direct mail. Instead seniors can pick up a copy from participating Australia post outlets, local councils and libraries, local Member of Parliament offices and community centres. The Directory is also available to download on the NSW Seniors Card website.
Seniors Card is a free government program that gives members access to the Gold Opal transport concessions as well as discounts from thousands of participating businesses.
To join, you must be:
- Aged 60 or over
- A permanent resident of NSW
- Working 20 hours or less per week, averaged over a year.
If you're not already a member, you can join by calling 13 77 88.
