PlaygroupNSW is an informal session where parents, carers, babies and children aged 0 to school age come together in a relaxed and friendly environment. Playgroup gives children an opportunity to have fun, make new friends and develop new skills through informal play. Playgroup provides parents and carers with an opportunity to meet other parents and carers, make friends and share ideas and experiences. Playgroup also allows parents and carers to spend quality time with their children, encouraging, helping or simply playing with their children.

The National Childcare Accreditation Council have other suggestions for parents and carers. 

Families are a significant group with a direct interest in a wide range of government programs and services. The Australian Government recognises that their information needs are diverse and it can be time-consuming to pursue this information across a variety of sources and now provide Family Relationships Online to assist.

The NSW Department of Family & Community Services promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and works to build stronger families and communities. They provide child protection services, parenting support and early intervention, foster care, adoption services and help for communities affected by disaster.

KIDSAFE - the Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia - is an independent non-profit organisation dedicated to preventing unintentional death and injury of children.

National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) is a non-profit organisation and approved charity that works to create a safe Australian society for all children. Established in 1987, NAPCAN made history by becoming the first national organisation to promote united approach to child protection and related issues.

The Stronger Families Learning Exchange aims to contribute to the formation of an evidence base from which to inform policy, practice and research in strengthening families and communities.
