About the road safety officer

Local Government plays a major part in increasing community awareness and understanding of road safety issues as well as influencing road safety improvement.  The NSW Local Government Road Safety Program (LGRSP) is administered by the Roads & Maritime Services in association with the Local Government and Shires Association and the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia. Implemented in 1992, has evolved to include 77 road safety officers employed in full or part time positions across 89 councils.

If you would like further information on the LGRSP or the role of the road safety officer, please contact Council's Road Safety Officer on (02) 4232 0444
