Local Government has a major role in increasing community awareness and understanding of road safety issues, and influencing road safety improvement.

The NSW Local Government Road Safety Program (LGRSP) is administered by the Roads & Maritime Services in association with the Local Government and Shires Association and the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia.

Eighty-nine councils employ seventy-seven Road Safety Officers in full or part-time positions across NSW.

If you would like further information on the LGRSP or the role of a Road Safety Officer, contact Council's us on (02) 4232 0444.
