As a fifth generation dairy farmer of Riversdale in Kiama, my family settled in the area in the early 1800's and played a strong role in the early dairy farming industry which I continue today.

I was born and bred in this municipality and have a strong sense of community, environment, culture and sport - including my many years as a successful rugby player for both Kiama and the Illawarra regions. I attended Hurlstone Agricultural High School and was in the National Service from 1972 to 1974.

As a councillor, I am passionate about bringing a broad rural perspective to issues surrounding our council.

Council Committee membership: Committee of the Whole, Australia Day, Economic Development Committee, Holiday Parks Advisory Group, Internal Audit & Risk Committee, Kiama Cultural Board, Kiama Walking Tracks/Cycleway, Work Health & Safety Committee, Performance Review Committee, Planning Committee, Staff Consultative Committee and Traffic Committee.

Having been a volunteer at the Kiama Community Garden for several years now, I felt this photo characterises me welcoming people to the garden.

Community organisations involve volunteers in activities that assist their local community to develop in ways that are valuable to group members. I have been an active member of many community organisations throughout my adult life and it is this experience that inspired me to become a councillor.

As a councillor, I want to ensure that Kiama develops in ways that are valuable to the community, without losing those features that make it such a great place to live.

I hope all our residents will feel confident in contacting me to share their ideas on local issues.

Council Committee membership: Committee of the Whole, Access Advisory, Blue Haven Management Advisory Committee, Hoi An Friendship Committee, Internal Audit & Risk Committee, Kiama Cultural Board Kiama Health & Sustainability Advisory Committee, Long Term Financial Planning & Revenue, Performance Review,  Planning Committee,  Seniors' Week and Youth Advisory Committee.

I was raised in Kiama and is a former Captain of Kiama High School. I have been a corporate lawyer, business operator and employer and the local Member of Parliament.

I understand the links between private enterprise and government. I have a proven record of success in negotiating, lobbying and securing grants and infrastructure for the local community. I have extensive experience in public administration.

I will ensure Kiama Council can prove itself 'Fit for the Future' to avoid any amalgamation. The Council must live within its means and manage more effectively.

I am committed to improving the lifestyle of all residents. I will promote Kiama as a place to live and retire. I will work to improve our leisure centre, recreation facilities and retirement villages.

Council Committee membership:  Committee of the Whole, Hoi An Friendship Committee and Holiday Parks Advisory Group.

I believe that our municipality demands an objective, creative and responsible council that is alive to the needs of individuals yet can bring harmony to the community.

The privilege of serving as Councillor anywhere is very special, but to serve here in Kiama is an exceptional pleasure!

The beauty of the place is nearly as intense as the beauty of the people. We also have the best of contemporary technology. Our council is objective, creative and responsible and despite our differences, we understand the value of collaboration.

I work in my own business, writing and producing TV commercials and screenplays. My hobby is international relations.

I believe our district is well connected - to each other, to our community and to the world.

Council Committee membership: Committee of the Whole, Australia Day Committee, Hoi An Friendship Committee, Kiama Cultural Board including Art Centre and Grants, Long Term Financial Planning and Revenue Committee and Youth Advisory Committee.

As a civil engineer from Kiama with a young family, I have more than 20 years experience in water and environmental management and hold a Master's Degree in Planning and Local Government Law.

This photo was taken at the favourite playground of my two youngest children and represents one of my key priorities: to improve facilities and programs that address the needs of families.

I believe we must do what we can to minimise our environmental impact. Development should be sustainable, innovative and meet our current needs but never compromise the opportunities available for future generations.

I will work hard to represent the local community fairly and to promote the vitality and sustainability of the Kiama area at every opportunity. I hope to build upon the good work of previous councils and continue to protect the unique character of this area for the benefit of all residents and visitors, and for the next generation.

Council Committee membership: Committee of the Whole, Floodplain & Estuary Management Committee, Internal Audit & Risk Committee, Kiama Health & Sustainability Advisory Committee, Long Term Financial Planning and Revenue Committee, (chair), Performance Review, Planning Committee and Streets & Reserves Naming Committee.

I have just had my first novel published 'Felix - Memoirs of a Cat Burglar' and this picture reflects my passion for drawing and specifically with cartoon caricatures. So apart from being on Council, I paint and draw cartoons and play bowls.

I bring to Council my extensive Real Estate knowledge along with a vast range of experience in other businesses and I believe I possess the enthusiasm and entrepreneurial know-how to make our town click.

I am passionate about being a councillor in Kiama after having lived here for over 30 years. I have many grandchildren and numerous friends with siblings and I want Kiama to prosper with careers for our youth whilst still remaining a great place to live for all ages.

Council Committee membership: Committee of the Whole, Economic Development Committee and Long Term Financial Planning and Revenue Committee.

I am a passionate community member. As well as my work for Australia Post I am Deputy Captain of the Gerringong Rural Fire Service. I also serve as a health and safety officer and union representative. My long experience of community service has given me a commitment to employees and ensuring there is no contracting out of Council services.

I am also concerned about the cost of housing becoming out of reach for young  local families.

Council Committee membership:  Committee of the Whole, Blue Haven Advisory Management Committee and Economic Development Committee.

My experience both personally and professionally, covering most of my adult life, has revolved around a passion for Community participation. As a former Media / Communications / Community Relations Manager with Sydney Water in the Illawarra Region, and as Founder / Life Member / President of Kiama Game Fishing Club / Jones Beach Board-riders and South Coast Surf-riders Association, I believe I have an excellent background for Council activities.

I am always available to discuss and bring issues to Council. Being on 10 Council committees provides me with regular opportunities to voice your input whilst gaining a greater perspective of Council's operations.

I feel Local Government is the most important tier of Government for most people as it directly affects their lives.

Council Committee membership: Committee of the Whole, Companion Animals Management Advisory Committee, Hoi An Friendship Committee, Kiama Walking Tracks/Cycleway,  Performance Review Committee, Planning Committee and Traffic Committee.
