Closure of Jamberoo Mountain Road

Jamberoo Mountain Road will close during the coming school holidays to allow road works to occur.

Contractors will be repairing sections of road damaged by a landslip earlier this year.

Due to the nature of the work it will be necessary to close the road to traffic to allow the work to be done in safety.

While general traffic will be required to use alternatives routes, residents will still be able to access their properties.

We will have traffic controllers in place to help residents safely entry and leave their properties.

The closures will occur on the following dates and times:

  • Monday 25 September to Friday 29 September, 7.00am to 5.30pm
  • Tuesday 3 October to Friday 6 October, 7.00am to 5.30pm

The road will be open to traffic for the weekend of Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October, including the public holiday on Monday 2 October.

As part of the road works, Council contractors will also be removing a number of trees alongside the road that have been identified as safety hazards.

This will allow contractors to widen the road, install guard rails and improve sight lines for drivers.

Council has engaged a contractor to undertake a wildlife and habitat report prior to removing the trees.
