What were once considered the worst toilets in the Kiama municipality have become the jewel in the crown of the upgraded Jamberoo Sporting Precinct.

The refurbishment of the new amenities block at Kevin Walsh Oval is a major milestone in the precinct upgrades, which overall are worth $1.44 million.

The new amenities boast:

  • refurbished change rooms
  • new canteen
  • disabled toilets (with adult change table)
  • male/female public toilets.

The upgrade project was financed by council and the NSW Government, through its Stronger Country Communities Program.

As well as the new amenities, Kevin Walsh Oval now has new fencing, seating and better drainage.

Keith Irvine Oval next door now has sports field lighting, with a dedicated amenities building to come.

The access road to Keith Irvine will also be upgraded.

The Jamberoo Youth Hall, which forms part of the precinct, is also being renovated.

The whole project is expected to be completed by November this year.
