Kiama Council services to our community will continue as we adapt to new COVID-19 public health orders from the NSW Government.
Council staff have been shifted to working from home arrangements, where possible, to comply with the new public health orders, that come into force Wednesday 21 July.
We have also established a roster of staff needed on site, to ensure our key services and facilities continue to operate.
Our key services also continue to operate, including:
- Waste collections
- Cleaning public toilets, streets and reserves
- Ranger services
- Planning and development assessments
Our major facilities remain open. These include:
- Administration Centre
- Kiama Library
- Kiama Leisure Centre
- SENTRAL Youth Services (Thursday and Friday afternoons)
- Visitor Information Centre
- Playgrounds, reserves, pools and beaches
- Minnamurra Waste and Recycling Centre
While our Customer Service team will continue to manage phone calls and counter enquiries, we are encouraging our residents to take advantage of our online services rather than make face-to-face visits.
You can access these via: www.kiama.nsw.gov.au
We also remind everyone to wear a mask when visiting any of our buildings, and check-in using our QR codes and the Service NSW App.
The team at Blue Haven is working to ensure that all safety precautions and public health orders are obeyed.
Over 85 per cent of Blue Haven residents have received vaccinations, over 50 per cent of staff have received their first vaccination and over 45 per cent are fully vaccinated.
By the end of August, it is expected that 80-85% of staff will be fully vaccinated.
While our Bonaira aged care home and Barroul House Café remain closed, video chats with your loved one are available.
Council is also reviewing our construction projects to ensure our contractors have COVID safe work plans.
We will continue to update the status of our facilities and services via our COVID-19 web page: www.kiama.nsw.gov.au/covid19
We also a range of mental health support information to assist those needing support during this time: www.kiama.nsw.gov.au/mental-health
We also encourage our community to refer to the NSW Government website for the latest information on COVID-19: www.nsw.gov.au
