Kiama Council has this week advertised for new management roles across the organisation.

The recruitment drive comes on the back of the first stage of Council’s organisational restructure, announced earlier this year.

Council has already gone to market for three executive roles, with interviews currently being held, and an expectation that offers will be made to preferred candidates in early April.

Now Council is advertising for:

CEO Jane Stroud said she was looking forward to welcoming the next wave of new staff.

“I’m really excited about going to market for these positions, our workforce needs stability and leadership and filling these roles is critical in bringing this. Kiama Council is changing and we’re looking for the people who are going help drive and shape that change for the better,” Ms Stroud said.

“We’re looking for people who will bring enthusiasm and resilience to their role. Experience is also important, particularly for our manager roles, but we’re also happy to support and train those who are perhaps less experienced if they have the right mindset.”

Ms Stroud said part of having the right mindset was a willingness to face challenges and be open to innovation.

“Like every local government, we have our challenges. The good thing about ours is, we know what those challenges are, we have a clear strategy to follow towards building a sustainable future for Kiama Council and we are embarking on that journey.”

Ms Stroud encouraged people to apply and drew attention to Council’s updated ‘Hybrid Work Policy’ which allows greater flexibility for staff to work from home, do reduced or compacted hours and a range of other hybrid-work options.
