Community Satisfaction Survey 2020

Mayor Mark Honey has urged residents to take part in the 2020 Community Satisfaction Survey, which begins Monday 19 October.
Clr. Honey said the Survey was being independently conducted by IRIS Research to gauge community satisfaction with Council.
“The Community Satisfaction Survey is one of the major tools Council uses to gauge how we are performing in the eyes of our community,” Clr Honey said.
“It also allows us to learn what areas we should be focussing on in future.”
Residents can take the online survey from Monday 19 October until Sunday 1 November: 2020 Community Satisfaction Survey
IRIS Research will also conduct a telephone survey, weekdays from Monday 19 October between 4.30pm and 8pm, and Saturday 24 October between 10am and 4pm.
IRIS will phone around 500 residents at random, using a quota system to ensure the survey is representative of the community.
Phone numbers are generated randomly – Council will not share your personal information.
This means you may not receive a call.
Also, you may be called but not interviewed if surveyors have enough responses from people of similar age, gender and location.
Results of the survey will be available in early 2021.
“Kiama Council has always performed strongly in these surveys since they began in 2011. In 2018 we recorded a 78 per cent satisfaction rating from residents.”
Clr Honey said the 2018 survey showed Kiama was the best-performing council across a range of benchmarks, including:
• Maintenance of local roads
• Food and garden organics
• Library services
• Community halls and centres
• Maintenance of parks and gardens
• Maintenance of sports grounds and playing fields
“This is obviously pleasing as a Mayor, and for our hard-working council staff.”
“However, the most important part of this survey is finding out what we could be doing better.”
