Fabulous Fabric Free for All
Published on 14 October 2020
Kiama Council and Reduce Reuse Recycle (R3) Kiama are hosting a Fabulous Fabric Free for All at the Joyce Wheatley Centre on Thursday 22 October.
The Fabulous Fabric Free for All follows the huge success of last year’s Clothes Swap Party, encouraging people to ‘re-home’ their excess stashes of fabric, rather than consigning them to landfill.
You can drop off your unwanted fabric and yarn, and for the cost of a gold coin donation browse for something to inspire a new sewing or knitting project.
Leftover fabric and yarn will then be taken to Textile Recyclers Australia near Penrith where they will be turned into new garments or fabrics.
How to join the Fabulous Fabric Free for All:
- Drop your spare fabric and yarn at the Joyce Wheatley Centre from 12pm, Thursday 22 October.
- Browse the assembled fabrics and yarns from 2pm to 6pm for the cost of a gold coin donation.
You do not need to contribute fabric or yarn to browse. Only reusable fabric and yarn are being accepted.
If this sounds like a great idea, you can also volunteer to help sort and run the event by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
