Kiama Council has finalised the design of the Minnamurra Bike Skills Track at Sanctuary Place Quarry.

The design has been refined to include a number of suggestions received while the draft design was on public exhibition.

Neighbouring residents, community groups and local schools were consulted, and provided valuable feedback on the project.

The final design includes:

  • Two downhill tracks
  • Two pump tracks
  • A junior/toddler track
  • A balance skills course

There will also be picnic shelters, park benches, amenities and a carpark.

Now that we have a final design, we can get ready for the construction phase of the project.

Our construction team should be able to start work in coming months.

They will be assisted by the Minnamurra Lions Club, which will help repair the existing picnic shelters, install park benches, the log skills section and landscape the site.

We hope to have the Track ready to open in the first half of 2021.

The NSW Government has provided $50,000 towards the project from its My Community Project initiative.

The Australian Government has allocated $150,000 from its Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
