Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival 2023
Published on 08 March 2023
The Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival returns this weekend (10-12 March), with a jam-packed three-day program of music with the added bonus of a street festival on the Sunday.
This iconic South Coast event will once again see our local streets, parks, cafes, bars and clubs alive with the sound of music.
Expect a full range of traditional and modern interpretations of the ever-evolving genres of jazz and blues, thanks to a great range of free and ticketed performances.
Tourism and Events Manager Sally Bursell said the festival program would delight both casual and hardened jazz and blues fans with a highlight this year being the debut of the Kiama Street Festival on Sunday, with Terralong Street hosting tasty tunes and delicious street food from 11am.
“We’re going to be reclaiming a portion of Terralong Street, outside the Courthouse, where everyone can either kick up their heels or kick off their shoes and relax,” Ms Bursell said.
“Either way you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the music, food and drink, all while enjoying the great autumn weather and beautiful backdrop of Kiama Harbour.”
Destination Chair Matt Brown said he was proud that Kiama Council and Destination Kiama were once again providing significant financial and in-kind support to the Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival.
“I am thrilled to be able to say we are investing a record level of funding into the Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival,” Cr Brown said.
“Kiama Council is providing $14,000 to the festival as our annual contribution, and Destination Kiama is contributing $6,000.”
“That’s $20,000 in total.”
“What’s more, we’ve been able to secure an $18,000 grant from Reconnecting NSW to be able to host the Kiama Street Festival on Sunday.”
“I encourage everyone to check out the festival program, as tickets will be going fast for many of the shows.”
“I look forward to seeing everyone there!”
