Kiama Council is developing plans of management for some of our most-loved locations, and wants our community to be involved.
Council manages Crown Reserves at iconic locations such as Saddleback Mountain, Blowhole Point, Kiama Showground, Gerringong Harbour and Seven Mile Beach.
New NSW Government legislation requires us to develop plans of management for these reserves.
These plans of management will set out what the land can be used for, what development can occur and what leases and licences are allowed.
We’ve engaged Locale Consulting to help us develop a generic plan of management for the Crown Reserves.
The first stage is consulting precinct committees, tourism and business groups as well as the wider community, before beginning to draft the plan.
We’ve started meeting with these committees and groups, and we’ve prepared an online survey for the wider community, to capture what people think is important about these places and how they should be managed.
The survey is open until Sunday 20 September.
