Kiama Council is seeking ideas for the design of the new playground at Old School Park in Gerringong.

Director Engineering and Works Mike Dowd said Council is replacing the play equipment as part of its asset renewal program.

“While we’ll be replacing the playground with something on the same scale, this is an opportunity to consider what changes people may want to see,” Mr Dowd said.

“If you have any ideas of how you’d like the playground to look, or features you think will improve the experience for our kids, we’d love to hear from you.”

Suggestions should be emailed to Council via council@kiama.nsw.gov.au by the end of October.

While the playground itself is being replaced, the shade sail, footpaths and shelters are all in good condition and will remain.

Council is also replacing the playground at Eureka Reserve in Kiama Downs.

Suggestions about what the replacement could be are also welcome.

Kiama Council is investing more than $415,000 replacing playground equipment this financial year.

Our replacement program ensures playgrounds continue to meet Australian Standards and allows our community to enjoy their recreation facilities in safety.
