Recreational Waterways Policy Consultation

Kiama Council is developing a new policy to guide recreational use of our waterways such as Minnamurra River, Werri Beach and Seven Mile Beach.

The policy is intended to govern commercial activities in these locations, and set out the number of operators, approved locations and number of participants.

The policy will include activities such as stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and surf schools.

It will replace any existing individual guidelines such as those for surf schools on Seven Mile Beach.

Council is kick-starting the development of this policy through meetings with resident and community groups as well as existing commercial operators.
