Kiama Council manages 19 Crown Reserves in our Municipality.
New NSW Government legislation requires us to develop plans of management for these reserves.
These plans of management will define permitted uses of the land, what development can occur and what leases and licences are allowed.
Council has engaged Locale Consulting to help develop a generic Plan of Management which can be adapted for each reserve.
We’ve engaged Locale Consulting to help us develop a generic plan of management for the Crown Reserves.
This process involves significant consultation with precinct committees, tourism and business groups as well as the wider community.
This includes an online survey to capture what people think is important about these places and how they should be managed.
Results from the survey and feedback from the various groups will help development the draft plan of management.
We will then conduct further public consultation to gather feedback on the draft plan, before the final plans of management are presented to Councillors for endorsement.
The final plans of management are required to be in place by June 2021.
