RoboClub is a new after-school coding and robotics club provided by RoboLink Education in partnership with Kiama Library, open to primary school kids aged 8-12.

There are two sessions scheduled for Term 3 with half-term participation - giving new students the perfect opportunity to try out robotics and coding.

Session 2 runs for five weeks, with students attending each Friday 4-5 pm from 30 August - 27 September.

What is RoboClub?

RoboClub teaches kids coding and programming skills while working with a wide range of robots, including: EV3 Mindstorms, WeDo LEGO Robotics, Sphero, Dash & Dot, Ozobot, LEGO Boost, Mangobot, Raspberry Pi, Finch, Ino-Bot, Drones and much more! Virtual Reality experiences and 3D design and printing tasks linked to some of the students’ coding and robotics work may also form part of the RoboClubs.

RoboClub.pngSessions are run by fully qualified RoboLink Gurus (with Working With Children Clearance), supported by a team of Junior Guru mentors (high school students with expertise in Robotics) and Kiama Library staff.

Differentiated lessons are given within the group based on each child's needs and abilities. Students work at their own pace and pursue knowledge and skills sequentially as they are ready to progress. Each child maintains an online student portfolio, enabling them to share their exciting achievements at home after RoboClub.

All equipment is provided by RoboLink for use during club sessions, including laptops & iPads, for individual and/or partner work - depending on the activity.
