Bookings for this event will open 22 August unless otherwise advised.

Council will follow NSW Government advice regarding COVID-19 restrictions to decide if the event goes ahead. 

If you pay for a waste service in your annual rates, you can dispose of large bulky household items for free at our Household Bulky Waste Drop Off event.

Our 9-day event takes place 2 times a year.    

Requirements

  • Registrations are essential. No registration means no entry.
  • You must be a resident of the Kiama Municipality and pay our Domestic or Rural Waste Management Charge in your annual rates to register.
  • Register your drop off day and time before 3pm the day prior.
  • Limited to 1 drop off per household per event.
  • Proof of residency such as a driver's licence, rates notice, or utility bill required on the day.
  • Total quantity equal to a standard box trailer or standard ute (maximum 2m3).
  • No trucks permitted.

Items accepted

  • baby goods
  • cds, dvds, books
  • crockery and homewares
  • garden pots and equipment
  • indoor and outdoor furniture
  • carpet and rugs
  • luggage
  • paintings and frames
  • sporting goods
  • bicycles
  • toys
  • electrical goods
  • mattresses
    (Maximum 2 per household, and can be a mattress and base, or 2 individual mattresses. These are accepted in addition to the 2m3 quantity limit.)
  • computers and televisions
  • fluoro tubes and globes
  • metal drums (empty)
  • gas bottles and fire extinguishers
  • household and car batteries
  • ink cartridges
  • motor oil and other oils
  • paint
  • paper and cardboard
  • polystyrene No. 6
  • smoke detectors
  • textiles
  • white goods (fridge, microwave, washing machines, stoves)
  • x-rays.

Not accepted items:

  • asbestos
  • building/demolition waste
  • garden waste (unless fees paid)
  • household garbage and food scraps
  • pane/sheet glass and mirrors
  • toxic chemicals and hazardous waste
  • tyres
  • waste from commercial premises (shops or offices)
