Health Moves

Kiama Leisure Centre is encouraging locals with chronic diseases to try the next Health Moves program.

Health Moves is an exercise and healthy living program for people with diabetes, heart problems, high cholesterol, blood pressure or osteoarthritis.

The 12-week program provides a fun, friendly and supportive environment for people with these chronic conditions to get their health back on track.

The exercise classes. led by Leisure Centre staff, suit all ages, and are tailored for each person’s health and fitness levels.

The twice-weekly classes start slowly and build up as participants gain confidence.

Health Moves also includes four healthy living education sessions.

The program is also low-cost, at $99.00, to encourage those unsure of how and where to get active.

After the program, people can continue to exercise at Kiama Leisure Centre, with its familiar staff and facilities.

Health Moves is an initiative of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and Kiama Municipal Council.
