Residents of the Kiama Municipality can now dispose of their unwanted televisions, computers and computer peripherals for FREE at the Council's Community Recycling Centre located at the Minnamurra Waste and Recycling Facility, 446 Riverside Drive, Minnamurra 8am-4pm weekdays and 8am-12 noon Saturdays, closed Sundays, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday. This service is for household quantities only.  E-waste from commercial operations, businesses or schools will not be accepted.  Residential items that will be accepted are:

  • televisions
  • computers (desktops and laptops) & monitors
  • computer accessories and parts (mice, keyboard, joysticks, CD/DVD drives, internal hard drives, floppy disc)
  • printers/scanners/photocopiers/faxes
  • palmtops and tablets
  • mobile phones

Does your school have any unwanted computers, laptops or monitors that can be recycled?

Free Computer Recycling is a Sydney based company that operate a 100% free computer recycling service. Schools within the Kiama LGA can participate in this program, but must have a minimum of 100 computers to be eligible. Schools should consider banding together to arrange a collection pick up service.  For more information contact 0466 084 263

Unwanted working electrical appliances can be taken to the Shellharbour Resource Recovery Centre at Buckleys Road, Dunmore to be sold through the second hand store. For details call the Centre on (02) 4237 5193.

7:30am - 4pm weekdays
8am - 4pm weekends and public holidays
Closed Christmas Day and Good Friday

Any electrical appliances that are at least 70% metal and are no longer working such as microwaves, fridges, stoves can be disposed of free of charge in the metal bin at our Minnamurra Waste & Recycling Facility.
