Sculpture by the sea

half-way-Sculpture-by-the-sea1The sea is an amazing force. It dissolves rock and carves out dramatic shapes along the coast.
If you look across to the cliffs you can see a sea cave in the cliff base under the remnant rainforest.

It is an example of the way the sea has weathered seams of volcanic lava which flowed along the cracks and fissures in the sandstone.

This plaque is one of many found around the district. The plaques discribe the history of their locations. They were commissioned by Kiama Council in 2009.
