We've put together some fun activities and resources to keep you entertained while you're at home. This page is changing all the time, so check in regularly to see what's new. 

 

Little Bang Discovery On Demand

Little Bang On Demand logo in green speech bubbleConduct experiments at home with your young scientist through Little Bang Discovery On Demand. - perfect for 3-8 year-olds. 

Over four fun-filled sessions, this hands-on program will allow children and their accompanying parents to combine everyday objects and experiences with genuine scientific enquiry methods.

We will be streaming an episode every week on YouTube throughout the month of May 2020, on Thursdays at 10.30. The first episode is available 7 May.  

 

Storytime online

We've also got special episodes for babies and toddlers when Baby Storytime and Toddler Tales would have usually occurred.

National Simultaneous Storytime

This year's feature book for National Simultaneous Storytime is the fabulous Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas, written and illustrated by Lucinda Gifford.

‘Whitney and Britney are two gorgeous chooks who live alongside Dora von Dooze. But Dora is perplexed - why do her dear chickens seem to sleep all day long? Dora decides to snoop. She follows the chooks out at night to the local jazz club where she discovers, to her amazement, that they are Whitney and Britney: Chicken Divas!’

Sorry Day

Log on to Story Box Library to hear Trevor Jamieson read Sorry Day, a story that helps children understand our history and the importance of our journey to reconciliation.

Download a colouring template for the kids to do while you listen to the story and talk about what Sorry Day means to you.

LEGO challenge

We're running a weekly LEGO challenge for kids and adult master builders! 

If you want to share your creations, take a picture and add it to the comments of our weekly LEGO challenge post on Facebook and Instagram (posted on Mondays), or tag us or use the #kiamalibrarylego hashtag. If you're under 13 or don't have your own social media account, email a pic to library@kiama.nsw.gov.au or ask your parents to post it using their social media account. Happy building!
