This year, Local Government Week runs between Monday 3 August to Sunday 9 August and is a time for Kiama Council to celebrate the essential role we play in the everyday lives of our residents. As the level of government closest to the community, we are uniquely placed to support healthy local economies, create thriving neighbourhoods, and respond to the needs of our people.
Kiama Council is staffed and run by local people, for local people. From our librarians and engineers to our carers, cleaners, and customer service teams, our staff are part of the community they serve.
This is a chance to recognise the individuals and groups who go above and beyond for Kiama. These awards were previously part of our Australia Day celebrations and will now be presented during Local Government Week.
