Gerringong Library

GLaM article.jpg

Our Gerringong Library branch has relocated to the brand new Gerringong Library and Museum (GLaM) facility on Blackwood Street (across the road from the IGA).

The GLaM building integrates contemporary design and technology with the original, conserved heritage elements of the Gerringong School of Arts to create a combination library, museum (with the Gerringong and District Historical Society), exhibition gallery and community meeting space.

The new contemporary library sits behind the old School of Arts building, and is a bright, open and flexible space for books, programs, exhibitions and technology.

The library facility includes:

  • Brightly lit double-height space with beautiful hanging wooden acoustic panels
  • Comfortable reading nooks and study spaces, including desks and cushioned window bench seats
  • Public wifi, computers, printer and multimedia facilities
  • An expanded collection with hundreds of new books
  • Multipurpose flexible spaces for library programs, events and workshops, as well as community use, exhibitions and meetings
  • Enclosed landscaped outdoor areas for individual and group activity
  • Dedicated parking spaces and bike racks
  • Open five days a week, including Saturday mornings
  • 24/7 returns chute.

Our library members are welcome to return items from our Kiama branch at Gerringong, and vice versa.

We can also send items from Kiama to Gerringong for collection on request, free of charge.
