The Bombo Headland Eco Walk provides a staircase linking the Bombo Quarry to adjacent walking tracks and beaches.

It allows walkers to explore the headland in its entirety and provides a spectacular lookout point along the coast.

The staircase design includes a viewing platform for people to enjoy the ocean views south towards Blowhole Point, and a channel to wheel bikes up.

The design also takes into account the heritage of the site, including its Aboriginal and European heritage, geology and vegetation.

The 13-metre staircase's colours and textures complement the iconic basalt cliffs and rock formations of the Quarry.

This project was funded by the NSW Government’s Restart NSW fund.

Update

Bombo Quarry Staircase is open to the public from May 2025.

Council urges caution when accessing and using the staircase as the steps are steep, surrounded by uneven ground and the coastline near the foot of the stairs can be dangerous.
