Performance Improvement Order
Kiama Municipal Council is subject to a Performance Improvement Order issued by the NSW Government. The Order sets out actions Council is required to undertake to improve its financial sustainability, governance and organisational performance.
The Performance Improvement Order was first issued in November 2022, varied in May 2024 and revised in 2026. Council reports to the NSW Office of Local Government on its progress in meeting the requirements of the current Order.

Strategic Finance and Governance Improvement Plan
Council's Strategic Finance and Governance Improvement Plan was developed in response to the Performance Improvement Order and sets out the actions being undertaken to improve Council's financial sustainability and governance.
Council reports to the Office of Local Government on implementation of the Plan.
