In the coming months Kiama Council will continue to upgrade hazardous sections of Jamberoo Mountain Rd, Wallaby Hill Rd, and Fox Ground Rd.

Initial engineering investigations and surveys are now complete.

Planned works include;

  • Reduction of encroaching vegetation to improve driver line of sight
  • Removal of hazardous tree branches
  • Re-establishing table drains
  • Repairing failed and installing new culverts where required.
  • Stabilising multiple up and down slope scours
  • Repairing road pavement edges and cracking
  • Installation of New Hazard Warning Lights on Jamberoo Mountain Rd

 

The overall program of works will take up to 18 months.

To limit traffic flow impacts, works will be undertaken in short stages moving from road to road.

Updates on the exact time of each package of works on particular roads will be made in advance.

Kiama Council thanks the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development for its funding support through the NSW Betterment Program - Infrastructure Betterment Fund (IBF).

Council also thanks the Office of Local Government for its support via a NSW Severe Weather and Flood Grant.
