Rates - deceased estates

Kiama Council recognises the passing of a loved one is a difficult time for all involved.

If you need to contact Council to discuss a deceased estate or to advise us of the passing of one of our ratepayers, please note:

  • Council requires a copy of the death certificate to update the title of the rates notices to "Estate of the Late" for future correspondence.
  • For information on changing title deeds, visit NSW Land Registry Services or your solicitor.
  • If a mortgage is held on the property and you wish to remove a name on the title deed, please seek instructions from your solicitor or financial institution.
  • To redirect Council's correspondence for the Deceased Estate, you will need to apply for a change of postal address
