We believe the best planning outcomes are achieved when communities are involved early in the planning process.
Community participation varies depending on the type and nature of a proposal being considered, and its potential impact.
On 1 September 2026 the NSW Government’s Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure adopted a Statewide Community Participation Plan (CPP) which replaces Council’s CPP.

Council is in the process of updating its Community Engagement Strategy to include how Council will engage on planning matters and will then formally revoke the 2019 CPP.
