Aboriginal Advisory Group

The Aboriginal Advisory Group, administered by Council, is a Community-led advisory group that operates using a Traditional Owner-centric approach. It provides guidance and input on matters relevant to the local First Nations Community.  First Nations people residing in the Kiama LGA are eligible to participate in the Advisory Group.

While the Aboriginal Advisory Group provides valuable insight and guidance, it does not replace comprehensive consultation with the broader First Nations Community, Traditional Owners, organisations and businesses. Genuine Community engagement requires ongoing, inclusive, and culturally appropriate consultation processes that extend beyond advisory structures to ensure diverse voices – particularly those of Traditional Owners and Elders – are heard and respected.

Meeting schedule

The group meets bi-monthly, with the next meetings are scheduled for:

  • Monday 13 April 2026
  • Monday June 8 2026
  • Monday 10 August 2026
  • Monday 12 October 2026
  • Monday 14 December 2026
