Before lodging your application, consider whether you need to consult our Development Assessment Unit (DAU), which provides a free service to people who are considering the following types of development within our municipality.

• Dual occupancy
• Unit development
• Commercial development
• Industrial development
• Large scale development

The DAU meets every Wednesday to discuss these types of development proposals. The service allows you to present your concept plans, and discuss and address any issues prior to lodging your development application. To apply to attend a DAU session, you will need to complete the DAU Meeting Request Form(PDF, 488KB) .

Meetings are held regularly and provide an excellent opportunity for professional development and networking with other local businesses.

Meetings are free of charge, and held at The Pavilion, Kiama.

Council also maintains a business database, and distributes a regular newsletter to keep you updated on upcoming events and funding opportunities.
