Since selling papers on the trams of Kingsford in the 50's I have had a long career developing businesses with a flair for the creative.

Starting as a self-employed electrician I moved on to building and running my own squash courts, golf driving range, aerial photography, printing and real estate businesses.

Along the way, I managed several organisations including a timber yard, brickworks, even a time as a regional bank manager.

I was chief executive officer of the Wollongong Chamber of Commerce for 10 years, championing the small business community and highlighting the need for small business representation in local government.

I have received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award from the Lions Club International for 55 years of membership and services to the community and an Outstanding Service Award from the Office of Local Government.

Being a justice of the peace for 50 years and former president of the Jamberoo Bowling Club and Kiama Lions Club demonstrates my desire to give back to the community.
