Barney Street quarry update

Kiama Council has declined an offer to sell the old Barney Street quarry to the leaseholders, Burnetts on Barney (Farbreburn Pty Ltd).

Council received an unsolicited offer from Farbreburn Pty Ltd, to purchase the site at 80 Barney Street, in September 2022.

Councillors resolved at their meeting in October 2022 to enter into negotiations.

Those negotiations have now concluded, with Council respectfully declining the offer.

Council thanks Farbreburn Pty Ltd for their proposal.

The current lease will continue till the end of the contract.
