Kiama Council is supporting a number of events over the next four months, dubbing this as our “festival season” and offering a full schedule of entertainment for all tastes and interests.

The season kicks off with the enchanting “Folk by the Sea” festival next weekend. Get ready to be swept away by the melodic tunes, exhilarating activities, and unforgettable experiences.

The fun continues, with one of our hometown favourites, the free and fantastic KISS Arts Festival; then we’re presenting a series of music festivals as well as some unique sporting and cultural events.

First time events Jamberoo JAM Street Festival, Kiamasala, Clearly Music and Arts Festival, Changing Tides Festival, Dave Ferrit Festival will be setting a new benchmark for events in Kiama and will add to annual favourites such as our iconic New Years Eve Sky Show and the return of the Red Hot Summer Tour.

Destination Kiama supports each of these events via the Destination Event Funding Program (round 2 opening in December 2023), while the Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Events Program fund is assisting us to present the last of the street festival series at Jamberoo in October.

Read our blog for more information on these exciting events.

Call for local vendors, operators and event professionals

Also in our event space, Destination Kiama is calling for expressions of interest (EOIs) from the community and local operators to create a list of potential partners to assist in the delivery of a range of destination and community events run by Kiama Council.

The assessment and selection of event partners will be determined based on each individual event's specific and established objectives and predetermined criteria. To register your interest fill in our EOI - Kiama Council Event Partner (openforms.com).

Council support for events

We invite all event organisers to contact us if they are considering hosting an event in our LGA. As a first step, we request you fill in Council’s Preliminary Event Application Form.

More event funding will be available to event organisers via Destination Kiama’s Destination Event Funding – Round Two, which opens in December 2023. It is recommended that organisers apply for funding six months in advance.

Please click here to view our Destination Event Funding Guidelines to see details on this sponsorship fund as well as the criteria each application is evaluated on.
