West Kiama (Springside Hill) preliminary assessment

Kiama Council’s planning staff have made a recommendation to not support the progression of the formal assessment and approval process for the proposed West Kiama (Springside Hill) development (Planning Proposal 2023-2833).

Council staff have provided a report to Council that recommends the proposal not proceed to the NSW Government Gateway portal at this point in time. Staff also recommended that as the Council’s Growth and Housing Strategy is worked on, that the site be considered as part of this work.

The staff report will be considered by Councillors at next week’s Council Meeting at 5pm, Tuesday 16 April (item 15.1). At the same meeting, Council will also receive a petition relating to West Kiama (Springside Hill) containing 642 signatures (also available in the Business Papers item 17.9).
