Conditions of entry

  1. Nominations are to be made online
  2. You can nominate more than one group or individual, but a separate form must be submitted for each nomination
  3. Community groups can self-nominate. The names of the office bearers must be listed on the nomination form
  4. It is permissible to contact Council for advice regarding nominations
  5. Past winners will not be considered for the same category again; however nominations are permitted for those previously nominated who did not receive awards
  6. All nomination information and materials submitted remain the host Council
  7. No weight is given to the number of times a person is nominated
  8. The judging committees decision is final
  9. The purpose of the Award is to acknowledge the contributions and achievements of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  10. To be eligible for the nomination of an Award the nominee must:
  • Be an Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander person, with exception to ‘outstanding contribution to reconciliation by an aboriginal or non-Aboriginal person award’
  • Live, work or study locally, or be actively involved within their communities.
  • Reside within one of the local government areas listed.
