Kiama Council has received a development application (DA 10.2023.59.1) for land located at Lot 2 Dido Street Kiama:

da.kiama.nsw.gov.au/Application/ApplicationDetails/010.2023.00000059.001/

The application involves:

  • demolition and clearing
  • bulk earthworks
  • private road network and stormwater infrastructure
  • 60 semi-detached dwellings and 7 detached dwellings
  • rehabilitation of the existing riparian corridor.

The assessment and determination of the application is being undertaken by the South Regional Planning Panel, due to the scale and value of the development.

Kiama Council planning staff have assessed the application and provided a report and recommendation to the Panel.

Council’s existing policies have been used in this report.

Public submissions received through this process have also been included.

The Panel is scheduled to consider the report and its recommendation at an online meeting on 20 February 2024.

The recommendation made by Council planners to the Panel is for the application to be refused, based on flood impacts, flood free access, bushfire management, biodiversity, owner’s consent and ongoing management of public spaces.

The recommendation was noted by Councillors at their Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday, 13 February.

A copy of Council's report and recommendation, and details of the hearing are available via the NSW Government Planning Portal:
