The Draft Planning Agreements Policy (2024) sets out Council’s approach for the use of Planning Agreements entered into under Section 7.4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (Act).
A Planning Agreement (also known as a voluntary planning agreement or VPA) is where a developer agrees to provide the dedication of land, a monetary contribution or another material public benefit in association of a planning proposal request (land rezoning) or development application.
The Policy has been reviewed which has resulted in minor amendments, mainly in response to recent legislative changes, as well as reformatting of the document to improve readability and clarity. The Draft Policy also includes a template Planning Agreement and Explanatory Note guide as Attachments.
The Draft Policy is on exhibition until Friday 21 June 2024 and all members of the community and other stakeholders are encouraged to provide their feedback.
