Kiama Health Plan

Bombo

The Kiama Health Plan aims to improve the health and well-being of our community, and to protect and enhance our environment.

It identifies priority issues and ways to address them.

The plan has 5 sections titled:

  • Socially connected, cohesive and diverse.
  • Healthy and active.
  • Food secure and food sustainable.
  • Encourage and enhance a healthy and sustainable economy.
  • Healthy, protected and sustainable environment.

Our Council was one of the first NSW councils to develop a Health Plan in 1998-99, and since then have written several updated plans.

We remain an innovative leader in this policy area.

As a result of our initiatives, in 2008 the World Health Organisation (WHO) recognised Kiama as a Healthy City.
